The Foundation was incorporated in
1995. The Anonymous Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501-C3
corporation.
The funds that enabled the Anonymous Foundation to be set up came
from the estate of the late Bill D., from Waterford.
Bill D. owed his life to the recovery he
experienced as the result of working the AA program. He was
dedicated to service work, especially 12 Step calls. He had no
living relatives and in his will he set up the framework for the
Anonymous Foundation. Bill's vision for the foundation was to
carry the message of AA to recovering individuals and
families in the Capital District and to those individuals
still sick and suffering.
The Anonymous Foundation hosts Personal
Recovery Workshops. These workshops are not AA and are not
affiliated with AA. However, the speakers for these workshops
are individuals who carry the message of AA and working the 12
Steps. We are open to speakers from any of the 12 Step
fellowships and encourage anyone working a 12 Step program to attend
the Personal Recovery Workshops.
The Anonymous Foundation has also
sponsored Big Book Study weekends. The foundation hosted one
Big Book Study weekend with Joe and Charlie in 2000.
If you have heard a speaker you would
like the Anonymous Foundation to consider bringing in for a Personal
Recovery Workshop please let us know. We are in constant
search for speakers who share their experience, strength and hope
from the heart. We would love to hear from you.
