The workshops are held at St. Francis DeSales
new parish hall, One Maria
Drive, Colonie,
between Sand Creek Road and Albany Shaker Road.
In AA Today, Bill W.
stated, “From the beginning, communication in AA has been no
ordinary transmission of helpful ideas and attitudes. It has been unusual and
sometimes unique.
Because our kinship in suffering, and because our common
means of deliverance are effective for ourselves only when
constantly carried to others, our channels of contact have always
been charged with The Language of the
Heart”.
Each February since
1965, the theme for the International AA Women’s Conference (IAAWC)
has been “The language of the heart is spoken here”. As a testimony to how
powerful and popular this women’s conference has become, the 39th Annual
International AA Women’s Conference, held February
13-16th in Seattle,
WA was sold out months in
advance. The IAAWC
Statement of Purpose is written by women in AA, for women in AA and
states in part, “The Women’s Conference is a bridge to better
understanding the AA philosophy and the way of life because of our
special needs in sobriety as women”.
The three speakers bring their
experience, strength and hope as they share their personal recovery
stories. Each of the
speakers has a message worth listening to. From the commitment to AA
meetings, service and working the Steps necessary to reach the one
year anniversary of sobriety, to the struggle of coming back to
sobriety after having had 15 years of sobriety and then relapsing,
and finally to working the program after 25 years of sobriety. These are three speakers you
will not want to miss.
They speak the language of the
heart. |
