We are offering a
twelve month series of Step Study Workshops to expand our
appreciation of the miracle of recovery as revealed in the AA
literature. Each workshop will move us methodically through
the Steps as we explore together that “group of principles,
spiritual in their nature” that forms the firm basis for
recovery. The sessions
will open with an experiential opportunity to expand our Eleventh
Step practice to prepare us for the evening’s presentation,
including group questions and discussion so that the workshops
become an exciting place to develop a better understanding of the
Steps and to support putting them into daily practice. Each of the
workshops will be a stand-alone presentation, so that you can attend
any one or combination of them. This will be the last Step Study
Workshop in this series.
Gregg D. is the author of The Spirituality of
Sobriety. His book is referenced with many citations from AA
literature. Typically, he has between two
to six AA literature references per page, so he backs up what he
says with direct citations to the Big
Book and Twelve and Twelve. His personal experience,
teaching and book underscore the importance of Step work in
recovery. You are encouraged to bring both the Big Book and
Twelve and Twelve so that you can study referenced material
that is mentioned in the workshop. In addition, the Anonymous
Foundation will be selling Gregg’s book for $5., with the hope this
book adds to each person’s ability to work the Steps on a daily
basis.
As always, these
workshops are free of charge and refreshments will be served. Please
get the word out about these Step Study Workshops. Feel free to bring sponsees
and others who might benefit from hearing Gregg share his
experience, strength and hope about working the Steps to live a life
that is truly happy, joyous and free.
Each monthly workshop will begin with a
sampling of Eleventh Step meditation practices to help center us for
the evening’s presentation, followed by group discussion and
exercises to help bring the theoretical into the experiential.
